    To qualify for the initial selection process the student must submit the following by the February 23, 2024 deadline:

    • A completed application;
    • A current transcript emailed directly to us;
    • An essay; and
    • One letter of reference emailed directly to us.

    OFE will judge each applicant’s completed application, overall achievements, and financial need. The selection committee will then make preliminary selections for finalists who will be invited to an interview. These finalists will be interviewed individually by a panel of community members and volunteers. Dates TBD.

Box 667010, Houston, TX 77266-7010. The rest of your application materials should be emailed, no later than February 23, 2024, to scholarshipapps@outforeducation.org.

    Scholarship awards will be determined by funds available at the time they are granted. During the last several years, OFE has recognized and granted multiple outstanding recipients with scholarships for up to four years.

    Who is eligible for scholarships?2023-10-18T20:12:15-05:00

    In order to be eligible for a scholarship, you must meet the following qualifications:

    • Identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community or has parents that are members of the community.
    • Attending or has attended a Houston-area (which includes Harris or a contiguous county) high school, college, or trade school.
    • Have a GPA of at least 2.75 out of 4.0 GPA from current or last school attended.
